About me

My name is Dominic Rose, and I live on Litchfield Way, with my wife, Louisa, and two boys Theo & Dexter who are 7 and 4. Since moving here 3 years ago we have transformed our front and back gardens into (hopefully) beautiful, functional and wildlife friendly spaces, and have loved seeing the wide range of creatures that have started to visit.

The children love helping me in the garden, growing their own food, planting, weeding, chopping and digging and like so many young people are passionate about doing what they can to help the environment. Their energy and excitement, together with that of many of their friends who often ask if they can come and help us in the garden, has inspired me to put young people at the heart of this project. I hope to soon set up some children’s gardening clubs, putting them at the front line of making our local area as wildlife friendly as possible. Not only is this good for the environment, and our local community but I have also seen first hand the huge benefits to young people, from spending time outdoors, learning new skills and seeing that just small actions can make a big difference.

As for me, I have a deep personal and professional interest in biodiversity, and am Chair of SarahRaven.com, an online gardening platform with sustainability at its core. For the last 6 years I have primarily worked with digital brands who are as focussed on social and environmental impact as on profit and growth and truly believe big changes start with small steps and that communities can pull together to achieve amazing things.
