Biodiversity resources
A key part of this project is being able to capture rigorous scientific data on local biodiversity to establish a baseline (i.e. today) and then track what impact we have been able to have as a community through our collective focus on making our outdoor spaces wildlife friendly.
This will require conducting thorough and regular biodiversity audits, staffed by volunteers and experts. We hope to conduct three baseline audits this year - in May, July and September and are currently looking for experts who can help us to run these. Please get in touch if you know someone, or might be interested yourself!
Below are some useful organisations that we have been connected with, and are looking to work with on these audits:
London Natural History Society (who conduct regular wildlife surveys on Hampstead Heath)
Angel Marmont Centre for UK Nature at the Natural History Museum (who have a particular interest in citizen science)
BioBlitz (a way to engage professionals and amateurs in collating biological data in 24 hour “blitzes”)
